Rex Richards, a native Texan, resides in Pearland and has been an area resident his entire life. Rex graduated with honors from Pearland High School and earned both an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Houston.
After several years of working with small businesses in accounting and finance, Rex became a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch in Galveston, Texas. Displeased with the "big Wall Street firm" mentality, in June 2001, he became an independent financial consultant. Independence allows him to personally address clients’ needs and focus on each client’s financial goals, utilizing products and services most suited for the individual and free from the influences present at many of the traditional Wall Street firms.
With more than 17 years of experience providing financial advice to a select group of clients, including individuals, families, executives, and business owners, Rex recognizes each person’s situation is unique. Understanding this, he seeks to develop a financial plan that centers around the client’s needs and focuses on assisting the client accomplish his or her individual goals.
Accordingly, his approach is to pursue an in-depth understanding of his clients' financial situation and their personal values as they relate to their investment plan. This approach allows him the opportunity to forge a strong partnership with each client as he strives to turn their dreams into reality.
Rex is registered as an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, Member FINRA/SIPC, a Registered Investment Adviser. He is fully licensed to offer insurance and registered to sell securities and has also earned the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation from the College of Financial Planning. Rex is also a member of the Financial Planning Association. He has conducted numerous seminars on various financial topics and teaches financial planning courses at area colleges and corporations.
Rex, his wife, Tiffany, son Nathan, and daughter Evelyn reside in Pearland. Rex is a past president and an active board member of the Alvin-Pearland Coastal Conservation Association. In his spare time, Rex enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and almost anything else outdoors. Rex’s office is conveniently located in the Friendswood Park Plaza Building located at 907 South Friendswood Drive.
